I've arranged for the It Bites album "Once Around the World" and Khan's "Space Shanty" to wing their way to you. Not sure how long they'll take but they will get there eventually.

Damn, this'll cost me - seems only fair that I owe you a pint for this, so I'll have to fly to London to deliver it. Of all the rotten luck!

:D

Thanks mate, and I'm serious about the pint. Not sure when exactly, but I'll deliver in person...

It is both and individual song and a complete ep.

Keith, I love what you do with your winnings!

Wonderful choice in Once Around the World. Don't think you'll be disappointed, Jim.

And Space Shanty....been re-listening to this one for the past few days. Hope you'll consider adding the whole thing to go along with the track we already have. It's a gem.

Interesting the Steve Hillage connection there, Keith. I didn't know.

Other recommendations...

His first when he broke from It Bites, "Welcome to the Wild Country"

"One Night in Sauchiehall Street", mostly acoustic set with his friend Ashley Reakes.

"Hometown"

You can get all of those on his site www.francisdunnery.com

ps: "Man" is his most brilliant to date, imho.

No need to eat your hat mossy. I love it!!!!!! Some wonderful acoustic guitar sounds there. Beautiful songs and great lyrics.

Thank you for the recommendation.

xxxx

Latest updates -- 9/30/04

Instead of doing my patriotic duty as an American by slamming down a sixer of Budweiser and laughing at the two idiots debating for the presidency, I decided to take this wonderful opportunity to upload Jim's latest contribution to the station.

And let me tell you, those contributions are wide ranging and significant (as opposed to the two faces that are making noise on the TV at this time)

Anyway, enough political ranting. Time to give y'all the low-down on the low-down.
  • Bellador - The Day's Intent
  • Cyklus - Planet of Two Suns
  • Far Corner - Far Corner
  • Jethro Tull - Minstrel in the Gallery
  • Keaggy, Phil - Invention

I was trying to request some of the new Richard Leo Johnson stuff, and I can't find it. Am I blind or is it not there?

Yeah, I can't locate the Minstrel bonuses or Bellador either. Did it all get loaded? I know some did cause I requested Schon's "The Theme."

KeithieW 10-01-2004 02:19 AM

Nathan Mahl - Heretik part III_The Sentence.

Excellent!!!!!!

The three Heretik albums are IMHO essential listening. Thank you Jim for getting the final one for us to pick from.

Those of you who have these albums, try playing them ALL one after the other. Sure, it will make for a long night in but you will LOVE the experience. Comfy chair, a bottle of "something" and (if you're lucky) a friend to share the experience with.

Hey now there's an idea for a one off on the Moon. A Nathan Mahl "Heretik Fest". I'd be up for that one!!!!!!! :D

Those got loaded. I'll give it a quick look and see if I can figure out what happened.

OK, mystery resolved, all songs should be loaded. Figured out what happened. For some reason known only to the engineers at Microsoft, a whole bunch of those albums had a 'C' status (even though I checked them last night and they had a 'S' status (which means playlist city)). Blame Bill Gates. Lord knows we do it all the time.

Roger -Dot- Lee, hell, he's even responsible for all these blasted hurricanes we've had this year.

Yesspaz 10-01-2004 08:55 AM

Roger.Lee, you're my hero - in computer related matters anyway. For basketball players I tend to lean toward Larry Bird and Jason Kidd. Musicians? Well, where do I start?

Wow. I rate up there with Larry Bird and Jason Kidd? I'm ... I'm touched.

Roger -Dot- Lee, only wishes he was as cool as Martin Orford or Chris Squire, spandex or no....

Rick and Roll 10-02-2004 03:32 PM

A mirage?

When I extracted a couple of songs off of the playlist on my first show, they were not on the playlist to be requested.....hoping that this was a glitch, and when I pull more off of the list, it does not remove the song to request.

Roger -Dot- Lee 10-05-2004 08:03 PM

Jim managed to sneak in a few really cool updates on to the site. I've popped a few samples on the queue and they'll play after Brainrock this evening. I'm really looking forward to giving them a listen!
  • Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman, and Howe - An Evening of Yes Music Plus
  • Life 9 - Life 9
  • Vai, Steve - Flexible

Enjoy!
Roger -Dot- Lee

Rick and Roll 10-05-2004 08:39 PM

Vai....

Flexable's a bit uneven, but "Viv Woman" is a fun song :D

I've liked a lot of Vai's work. Not all of it, for sure, but a lot of it.

I'll give Viv a listen. Thanks for the pointer.

Roger -Dot- Lee, going to get that macro'ed somehow...

Latest additions to The Moon -- 10/10/04

OK...while I was busy running Gagliarchives and chasing down errant inodes and forcing them into submission, Jim's been doing what Jim does best: finding cool stuff. And lots of it. And when I say lots, ladies and gentlemen, I'm not talking about your run of the mill lots. I'm talking about lots on steroids. Lots that need special permission to drive on the freeways. Lots that start in one time zone and end in another one.

We're talking bunches of lots here, folks.

Anyway, I'll let you be the judge of how much lots this is:
  • Appleseed Cast, The - Two Conversations
  • Clark, Stanley - Stanley Clark
  • It Bites - Once Around The World
  • Malibran - La Citta Sul Lago
  • Malibran - Le Porte Del Silenzio
  • Malibran - Strani Colori
  • Malibran The Wood Of Tales
  • Oldfield, Mike - The Songs Of Distand Earth
  • Pain Of Salvation - BE
  • Pineapple Thief - Variations On A Dream
  • Quarkspace - Drop
  • Renaissance - A Song For All Seasons
  • Rush - Presto
  • Santo & Zappa - Santo & Zappa
  • Schon, Neil - Beyond The Thunder
  • Smith, Michael W - Freedom
  • Tangerine Dream - Alpha Centauri
  • Tangerine Dream - Goblins' Club
  • Tangerine Dream - Tyranny of Beauty
  • Triumvirat - Mediterranean Tales
  • Zappa, Riccardo - Celestion

Roger -Dot- Lee, See what I mean about lots?
