The newer YES logo.

I saw Yes and Dream Theater at the NY State Fair on Sept 2 and as all the other reviews have stated, it was an excellent show. First off, I had never seen DT and I must say, they really were very good. The crowd really got in to them and even wanted an encore which is rare for an opening act. As I had second row, dead center seats I got to see just how good musicians they really are, much better live than on CD IMHO.
Yes was as usual......GREAT. They hit every song dead on except for a minor glitch during Awaken but that is no big deal. It is almost expected at a Yes concert that JA will forget the words to one song. With all of the tunes that they have produced through the years, I can imagine that a mistake can happen now and then. The group as a whole seemed to really be together and enjoying themselves which really pumped up the crowd. My only wish was that, as much as I like Roundabout, that they would use it elsewhere in the set and come up with a "newer" encore. However, just another in a long line of great Yes shows.

On another note, I saw Journey the Monday before Yes and as a quick comment......they were great too.
I believe it was Yesspaz that had told me that they were really good in concert and I wouldn't be disappointed and that was correct. A really good, long show. The only drawback was it was raining for the majority of the show. I had front row, center and had taken my two teenage daughters....their first concert.....and they are now Journey fans and are ticked I didn't take them to Yes.....maybe next tour. :)
Nice pics Vax......I should have done the meet and greet.....again, maybe next tour.

Great times. When I saw them, they opened with "Seperate Ways," which is a killer opener. Highlight of the show for me was "La Raza Del Sol" and "Escape."

If you need help trimming the bloated Tales, I volunteer. I think it would have made a great single album, rather than a double album. Half the length could have been a compelling CD; as it stands now I find it fairly long-winded...

RUBBISH and CENSORSHIP - No way

Try it with Mike Oldfields Incantations - probably get the same answer there

Rich? I'm not rich... cash wise anyway.

A cash rich person would outlay that money for a Tee time to go wack a ball off into the distance and then go search for it only to repeat the activity again and again. At the end of the day, he's tired and has dirty balls.

At the end of my day, I was tired, *sober*, and had a met up with some truly wonderful and inspirational people... and a nice souvenir of the whole event. :)
