How about some progr from down under?

There's quite a few good albums from Australia and New Zealand which would add geographic diversity to the Progressive library.

NZ band Split Enz' first album, "Mental Notes" (1977) is a classic antipodean response to the prog explosion of the 70's.

Spectrum's double album Milesago (1972) (unfortunately only available on vinyl)

Morning of the Earth (Aussie surfing movie soundtrack)

Tully's "Sea of Joy" (1971, yet another surfing movie soundtrack)

Russell Morris' "The Real Thing" (single, 1969)

Patch's "The Star Suite" (1973, pretty sure it's vinyl only, and rare)

I only have a copy of one of these albums, but I think my brother still has a few.
btw: what happens with performance royalties on auralmoon?
Does it work like legit radio?

Cheers,
A

Not Drowning

Andrew,

G'day mate! :)

At the risk of mentioning a fairly NON-prog band, are you familiar with "Not Drowning Waving" from down (there) under?

I was exposed to "Claim" as a campus DJ in the early 90s here, but when "Circus" came out, it became my favorite album for quite a while! I likened them to latter-day Camel in some ways, but loved the instrumentation. Some reviewers even used "prog" to help describe them.

I found a collection called "Follow the Geography" but have never found anything else (anything worth hunting for?)

Anywho, they might be too 'pop/rock for the Moon, perhaps not....but wondered if you had any notes to offer....

Welcome to the Moon!!
