Gallery vs. Forum

Here's a question for ya Moonies.

We have the Gallery set up for pictures, of course here on the current website, where you can post comments to pictures, and upload galleries of photos. But I noticed that most people use the forums to quickly post any pictures they have.

Do the question is this: Do you guys still want a gallery with the new website? Would you use a nice little gallery where you could upload pictures, or do you think that you'd just end up posting them in the forums? Or would you use both?

Thanks!

The gallery is cumbersome, because there's no way to check for new additions to comments or pictures unless you go to the end and work back.

The best thing was the Frappr that Nadina set up...but it never got linked to the website...

I think a gallery of sorts is worthwhile. It just seems not because no one really has time to keep up with it all. One set place for pics for me is the best. As you say, "a nice little gallery"....

Frappr is realy nice...In order to save you guys work and save space, I think a link to the Frappr site would be enough.

Call me old fashioned but I think the Gallery as it is now suits me fine. I check it out from time to time to see what's changed and make the odd comment if I feel like it.

If there is something that fits in with posting a picture in a particular thread as a "one off" that is only relevant to that thread then I'll post it in the Forum........eg. My eclipse pictures.

So there's my 2ps worth. Keep it as it is........I like it that way. ;)

I completely forgot about the gallery, but since I'm lo-fi in my computer needs anyway, I don't care either way. I know this, if I do want to get a picture seen, I use the forums.

I agree with Keithie. I like the current gallery and would hate it to go away. We can post one off pics in the forums which have to do with a particular thread, but the gallery is one of a kind with it's archival quality and we get to make inane comments, as well. Look how far back it goes. Some of the Moonies on there are a part of the Moon fabric but haven't been around for awhile. I also like the look of the gallery. I posted on another thread about a separate gallery for Moonies Meeting Moonies.

My vote, for what it's worth, goes to keeping the current gallery format, still allow one off pics in threads which go along with whatever subject is being discussed, and an additional gallery for M meeting M's.

Frappr is great, but I don't think it's a substitute for the gallery. Pics too small, for one thing, and nowhere to make comments.

Thanks, Avian.

If I didn't know Mossy was humble I'd think she wants to keep the gallery because her pic leads it off:rofl:

Re: Gallery vs. Forum

G vs F, When you click to the Gallery you can visit 2 albums, there is no access to leave prog pic or such. Managment does that. We have no options there. Avian mentions downloading capability in his initial Query. I do not see that option available in there now

In the Forum you have given us away to post images at will, What is the Q?
Right now there is only one place to share, - the Forum.

The New Place is what you make it. If we can have a fun place to post Images in the Gallery we will!!!. The forum posts of course Fade away with time. I would Like to leave Images, Change Mine, or the Fun Mossy and I had One day Talking of Picturesof us in the Prog 70's vs Now!... I Think that the Most Recent Posted pic should be on the Front Page as Well. It would give it updating ...and stuff to shout about
