Ray Wilson Acoustic Gig in Dortmund

The gig took place in the Paulus Church in Dortmund, a smaller, semi modern church in the center of Dortmund ( http://www.pauluskircheundkultur.com/kulturkirche.html ). The acoustigc of that place is excellent, the pews inside there were not too comfortable, but better than standing around.

It begun on time at 7 pm. With Ray Lory and Ashley McMillan played (drums and bass). Ray played the whole repertoire, from Carpet Crawlers, Supper's ready (very short version), over Biko, on too his own expirience album with Genesis up too his own songs. And all this not chronolically, but in a very good mix. The gig,(with a 20 min brake) was 2.5 hours long.

Well, I outed myself already several times as a big fan of Rays Voice. (He is the singer I like most of all) Again here, he alone with his voice and his guitar (some songs were him alone), could fascinate the whole crowd (the church was packed) and take them to his world.

It was a great evening. Whenever you have a chance to see Ray live, go. You won't regret.

Re: Ray Wilson Acoustic Gig in Dortmund

I saw Ray Wilson with Genesis performing the "Calling all stations" album in Brussels.
Ray is a very good singer but maybe it wasn't a good idea as Genesis singer.
"Calling all stations" isn't a bad album. I like it ! But I don't like it as a Genesis album. I'm hearing another band .....and with another bandname he would have much more credits.
But I'm sure you saw a great concert Lotus.
