OhioProg 2012 Unable to Proceed

I just received this notice from the fund raising program for OhioProg, Kickstarter. While I am extremely disappointed, I am not surprised due to the economic climate we are in right now. Here's the notice:

Unfortunately, OhioProg 2012: Ohio's Premiere Progressive Rock Festival did not reach its funding goal by the project deadline. As a result, your pledge has been automatically canceled and your credit card will not be charged.

Even when a project doesn't meet its goal, backing a project shows your support for a creator's work. The value in that never expires!
If you'd like to visit the project page, click here:

Sadly,

Dale

This is a shame. I pledged a $grand. I must say that I'm not surprised that they only managed to amass just shy of $15K. Sheesh! People are just so pathetic. It seems to me that they expect the same people to take the risk and then ride their coattails... sounds just like those neo-socialist d'rats! :P

Does this mean Ohio Prog is cancelled? Not that I was able to attend.

I am very sad about this, too. I was looking forward to a fun weekend with good music and good people. I guess I will see some of you at RosFest, at least.

I hope Allen and company will try again next year, and perhaps use a different method of raising money for the fest.

It's sad. We need more, not fewer, of these events.

I did my part by pledging a $grand. Sadly, they only made about 10% of their goal even with my $1000. Looked like a nice area and theater too and the inaugural lineup wasn't too shabby either. I really wanted to party with Cryptic Vision again.
