Canadian music... rectification

Yo,

I only want to tell something about your "canadian" programmation.... it was Québec music. All this music was created by french people from Québec. It's a Canadian province but has an different culture from others provinces of Canada.

See ya!

Suddenly Quebec wasn't part of Canada in the 20th century, and people from Quebec are suddenly French instead of Canadian?

Schism 01-16-2004 04:48 PM

Québec people are inhabitant of Quebec... they are not French from europe... it's an other culture...

Ich bin ein Quebecer!

I thought he was doing different parts of Canada in different shows. And Sean being Canadian, I think he knows this.

Also, it should be applauded that he knows to put all of that in one show. I'm sure there will be a show in the future that has music from Flin Flon or Moose Jaw or Medicine Hat.

Look, people where I live differ a lot from other states. And Baltimore sure doesn't have a lot to call their own. We're still part of the US.

Nous sommes une!

Schism, did you listen to what Sean was SAYING? He made it very clear that this portion (1/4), of this segment (1/?), of his series on Canada was focused not just on Quebec, but MONTREAL.

Whatever injustices the Quebecois feel, real or imagined, are not perpetuated on Aural Moon.

I'd imagine there's gonna be a lot of Rush and a bit of Saga in the next installment!

Hoping to hear Godspeed You Black Emperor!, A Silver Mt. Zion, Do Make Say Think, and Fly Pan Am. Godspeed and Silver Zion are both based in Montreal though, so it may be too late.. :(

Hello,

Thanks for writing. It is true that these two shows (and the next two) will be focusing on the Montréal scene (the Saguenay material was mostly recorded in Montréal), which is a part of Québec, which is a part of Canada, which is a part of the world (we are all brothers and sisters ;) ). I will probably end up doing at least a dozen shows on Canada when all is said and done, and a more complete picture of how I've broken things up should be apparent at that point.

Regards,
Sean

How about some Max Webster

Eh? How about it? To give everyone a taste.

the_original_ib 01-19-2004 12:59 PM

Well, I don't think Max Webster would fit well into a four part series on Montreal :). I will get to everything in its due time.

Regards,
Sean
