Re: The Fusion Reactor #229 - Initial Fusion

Thanks... You'll notice I played "Mr. D.C." and "Mr. T.C." which I'm sure are references to the Coltrane piece.

Re: The Fusion Reactor #228 - Fusion By Numbers

Thanks for the feedback all... I didn't mean to sound distorted or fuzzy. I'll take that into account for the next show though. And I'll have some 10+ minute long songs too!

The Fusion Reactor #228 - Fusion By Numbers

Well we're back to a theme this week. I did a bit of a prog and fusion connect-the-dots this week, counting up to 20. I would have liked to have lingered on some of those numbers, so perhaps one day...

The Fusion Reactor #227 - Stories

Not a whole bunch of story songs, although that would be a fun theme. I was always into folks like Bob Dylan and Neil Young who could tell stories in their songs. But that wouldn't be very fusiony,...

Re: Final Show

Well best of luck Rick. There are still three couches at my place if you're ever driving through town and need a place to crash again.

Not that you could possibly use all three...

Re: The Fusion Reactor #225 - In The Moment

Sorry, I'm not at liberty to discuss what the theme was this week.

Just kidding, I didn't have any sort of theme, really. I guess it just turned out to be a bass-heavy show on accident. Or maybe...

The Fusion Reactor #225 - In The Moment

This show is a compilation of semi-randomly selected songs, carefully placed in the order you'll hear them. There's no theme to them.

In The Moment - Baker, Ginger Trio 4:31
Expecting Fulfillment...

The Fusion Reactor #222 - Non-Standards

There was some talk on the CProg list about standards - meaning songs that are frequently covered. I put together a show of some less-often covered songs, or at least covered in a non-standard...

Re: The Fusion Reactor #221 - Natural Science Fiction

Well hopefully you caught this week's. It looks like there was a mixup with last week's and it didn't play so this week both episodes played.

The Fusion Reactor #221 - Natural Science Fiction

This week it's quite a variety. Yeah, just like always. We're being more-or-less scientific this week.

Stella By Infra-Red High Particle Neutron Beam - Tribal Tech 6:26
Cosmic Microwave - Canvas...

The Fusion Reactor #220 - Searching For God

This week I thought I'd explore a very big topic: God. There are plenty of songs on the subject, to say the least. We're running the gamut from heavy prog to lighter fusion here, and beyond.

No, I...

Re: The Fusion Reactor #219 - I'm Thankful For Prog

Wow, you folks are much too gracious. I'm not worthy.

I gotta agree about those song endings, although in my opinion Jacob's Ladder might edge out Natural Science by a hair.

I'm not really in a...

The Fusion Reactor #219 - I'm Thankful For Prog

Quick note... the clothing drive and homeless outreach were a great success. It was definitely an eye-opening experience, which made me start Thanksgiving a week early. So speaking of which, I...

The Fusion Reactor #218 - Clothing Drive

The title is pretty funny because on Saturday of this week we are doing an outreach to the homeless folks in Pittsburgh. We've been collecting clothing for the last few weeks.

But yes, this is from...

Re: The Fusion Reactor #217 - The Classical Reactor

Stanley Jordan plays the flute too? Someone call the judges, that's too much talent for one man to have. The fact that he can play the guitar and piano simultaneously is too much already.

Rick,...

The Fusion Reactor #217 - The Classical Reactor

Yes, there were plenty of directions I could have gone with this. But what we end up with is a bunch of original prog pieces and one "improvised excerpt" done - or at least named - in a classical...

The Fusion Reactor #216 - Reactorful of Secrets

I can't tell you the theme this week. But you can probably figure it out for yourself with a little bit of sleuth work.

Rock Balls/Destination Unknown - Platypus 7:41
Secret Touch - Rush...

Re: The Fusion Reactor #215 - Songs I Wanted To Play

Colosseum II is mostly an instrumental jazz-rock band. In places they sound heavily influenced by Return To Forever... which in my opinion is not a bad thing. :)
