The close working relationship between two leading individuals on the London scene, saxophonist Tim Garland and drummer Bill Bruford, is mirrored in the creation of the Earthworks underground Big Band, performing in its only USA appearance at Iridium, New York City, December 7-12, 2004.

It is indeed a rare opportunity to find Bill Bruford in such a unique
setting. "The last time I did anything on this scale was with the Buddy Rich Orchestra, which I loved," he says. "I like to think I did at least as well with them as Buddy would have done with King Crimson! It's a privilege for me to have the Earthworks' book given the Tim Garland treatment.

For those familiar with Earthworks, this promises to be a hugely
entertaining way of re-visiting the band's repertoire; for those unfamiliar with the band, or the sound of a large group of the USA's top players in action, hold onto your hats! It is expected that these New York performances of Earthworks Underground will be recorded for later release on Bruford's own Summerfold Records.

Anyone who goes, please do a review for the forum for those of us who won't be there.

Enjoy!!!!!
