I have a Charmin box full of 8-Tracks, EEK!!! I'm sure they are all ruined by now. Been stored in my barn. Heat and time kills 'em.
Roxio makes excellent software for converting LP's and cassettes to digital. Toast 6 for Apples. Not sure what they call their Windows software.
Not had to much luck with the few cassettes I've tried because the tape deteriorates over time. It works, but not good enough for me. And as far as LP's, I didn't take good care of them as a teenager. And the older ones, well let's just say they're not all that listenable. But I do have quite a few that have only been played a few times they may work out.
Problem with converting from cassette or LP to digital is it must be done in real time. You can't just stick it in and click import and walk away like you can with iTunes. You have to babysit it. Which as many Lp's as I have, I may never get the time, oh well.
