Here's an explanation of the "If" record title by Jam Forte....(I just love the British)....
The story goes something like this;
(and I'm no teller of Jokes, so .. )
A bloke dies and goes to dispatches where he learns he's been too bad
to make heaven..
He gets to the gates of Hell .. and is told by the entrance demon that
there is one dispensation
you can walk from room to room and choose where you spend your time in
eternity...
but there is no going back once you leave one room and enter the next,
you must stay - or carry on further.
Ok, he thinks, well...
in the first room he sees miserable people up their necks in sh*t ..
Blimey! no way .
"let's look in the next one" he tells his escorting demon...
In the next the people are chained to the wall up to their waists in
sh*t...
"hmmm " he thinks " perhaps I should carry on further" ...

he then gets to a room where the people are sitting up to their ankles
in sh*t drinking Tea ..
"Wow! he thinks .. this doesn't look too bad" ...
"OK", he tells the escort demon., "Ill stay here..."
He is settled down and chained into his position and just about to sip
his tea when a large demon enters with a clipboard and says;
"Tea break over .. back on yer 'eads"
