Andre Rieu in Dortmund on Feb. 3rd

Just a few words regarding that happening:

My sister and me gifted my mother with tx for Andre Rieu (you may google for him), as she loves him. So today was the day.

The gig was in the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund, a multipurpose Arena, built in the 30's, famous in Europe as it was once the biggest Arena in Europe. For this gig aprox 8.000 ppl attended, only the cheapest and worst places under the roof were not full (I guess the audience attending did not make it so far up, as my sister and me lowered the average age quite a bit). We had seats in row 8, just 15 m from the stage.

To make it short: It was cruel! Although assisted by the Harlem Gospel Singers (time wise) and 3 Tenors (time wise) I had very bad 2.5 hours (including a 15 min break and a long Dacapo. The only 7 min that were good was them playing Ravel's Bolero. The rest was Johan Strauss and Lehar crap, including some "Volksmusik", where he had his audience sing.

I felt really bad disliking the whole stuff, being surrounded by (mostly ppl in their high 60's) having so much fun and being enthusiastic.

But: My Mother liked it so much and had a wonderful time at her 82 years. For this it was worth it!
