Show 77 - "Not On The Moon...But Not Bad!"
Going away from the full artist and straight prog shows this week to have a little fun. Strap yourself into the rollercoaster, because we'll be zipping back and forth from one genre to another.
![]() ![]() Next week we'll be featuring four full CD's and the following week is the Rosfest special...but I digress.... Fire Merchants - Ignition Fire Merchants - Nevele Excellent instrumental fusion and shredding by John Goodsall, Doug Lunn, and Chester Thompson, from 1987. Thomas Dolby - The Key To Her Ferrari Thomas Dolby - Airhead Thomas Dolby - Hot Sauce Three cuts from his snazzy "Aliens Ate My Buick" CD...lots of fun! Ian Crichton - Ghettos By Design The awsome Saga guitarist shows some versatility with this solo effort. Heavier than Saga music, most of the record is a bit too hard. Jonesy - Lost Shoe Jonesy - Sleep Bryan Jones is the bassist for Fast Eddie (now the Fast Eddie Music Conspiracy). I'll see them again on 4/8. His solo CD "Meaningful Sounds" combines African rhythms and sonic bass lines. Interesting stuff. Smiths - The Headmaster Ritual Smiths - How Soon Is Now? Yes - Johnny Marr, Morrisey and company make a Moon appearance with a couple of classics. Bruce Hornsby - Resting Place Bruce Hornsby - Sad Moon Bruce Hornsby - Sneaking Up On Boo Radley I love me some Bruce Hornsby. Here's three from "Spirit Trail", with that weird CD cover of his uncle with a cigarette sticking out of his ear. And he's gonna light it too! Outstanding music. Rage Against The Machine - Take The Power Back Rage Against The Machine - Know Your Enemy A bit of contrast, I'd say. ![]() Al Dimeola - The Embrace Al Dimeola - Kiss My Axe Al Dimeola - Purple Orchids I need to get this up to the Moon. "Kiss My Axe" is a great CD. Not his blistering old stuff, but tasteful and enjoyable. And that's just the cover model! ![]() Extreme - Cynical Extreme - Midnight Express Back and forth we go.... ![]() MSG - Desert Song Great song from "Assault Attack". Tasteful guitar by Michael Schenker, and features the vocals of Graham Bonnet (did some time in Rainbow). Kurgan's Bane - Through The Camera Kurgan's Bane - Regina From Baltimore, by way of Vermont and Mexico. Two excellent songs (first and last cuts) from "The Future Lies Broken". Happy Rhodes - Building the Colossus The vocal freak regales us with a jumpy song. Devo - Devo Corporate Anthem Devo - Clockout Devo - Timing X Devo - Wiggly World Devo - Blockhead Five songs, ten minutes. ![]() Kerry Livgren - Just One Way Kerry Livgren - Mask of the Great Deceiver Kerry Livgren - Ground Zero Three from "Seeds of Change", something I finally found on CD. The first song, not sure what it means, something about God...hmmm. Great song. Features drumming by Barriemore Barlow. Deceiver has RJ Dio on vocals and is one of his best songs. And Ground Zero has the great vocals of David Pack. Enjoy the ride! Last edited by Rick and Roll : 04-07-2006 at 05:08 PM. |
