Rickter Scale Show 143 - ELP
Airing on auralmoon.com Sunday, August 19 from 8-11 PM EST and
Monday, August 20 from 1-4 PM EST Although I'm drifting away from doing full shows on one artist, I've not yet done ELP and figured it was time. We'll hear the classics of course, with a few of my favorites thrown in. RAH - Live at the Royal Albert Hall....the others you should know ![]() The Barbarian (ELP) Knife-Edge (ELP) Tarkus (T) From The Beginning (TR ) Toccata (BSS) Still:You Turn Me On (BSS) Hoedown (TR ) Ces't La Vie (W1) Bullfrog (W2) The Score (ELPW) Finale (Medley) (Fanfare For The Common Man/America/Rondo) (RAH) Bitches Crystal (T) The Endless Enigma (TR ) Living Sin (TR ) Trilogy (TR ) The Sheriff (TR ) For You (LB) Canario (LB) A Time And A Place (T) Karn Evil 9 Impressions 1 (both parts) and 2 (BSS) Changing States (BM) Hallowed Be Thy Name (W1) Pirates (W1) Jerusalem (BSS) I'll throw in comments about the songs as needed but for now I'll just leave it as is. Most likely I'll not be present for the Sunday play and definitely not for the Monday run, will be at the beach, trying to enjoy things after a truly hellish work week. After the next three shows (one a mixed bag and two featuring this year's Progday acts), I'll try to slip in more shows featuring many different songs and artists. When I pick up a new CD I will feature it, but I'm leaning towards playing as many different artists as possible. As always, some songs will reach beyond the Moon library. Enjoy the ELP, and have a good week. |

What, no Pictures At An Exhibition?
Thanks for From the Beginning. My favorite blending of acoustic rock and synthesizer. Should be one long organ fest. ![]()

Re: Rickter Scale Show 143 - ELP
Well it was that or the Love Beach cuts
![]() Seriously, I figured the Isle of Wight version that was overplayed for a time would suffice....that song has a special place for me....it was the only song I got right on the Music final in college (the Mussorgsky version of course). A whopping 16% (1 of 6)...damn electives. I didn't realize that all the songs from Trilogy (except for the Bolero) were represented until I compiled them. |
