Salem Hill Weekend in Tennessee

I wanted to remind you of (or let you know for the first time) about a special weekend in October. It is a Free concertfor Salem Hill fans. See their invitation below:

Greetings Peculiar People!

Salem Hill, in association with...with no one actually, proudly
presents the Second Hillionaire's Weekend Friday, October 19th and
Saturday October 20th, 2007.

This year's Weekend will be in my hometown of Lebanon, TN. We're more
than pleased to announce the venue as Crossroads Community Church.
Don't let the "Church" part in the title fool you tho--this place is
monumentally cool. It's the church I play at every Sunday and when I
was solicited to play there back in November I was quite lukewarm to
it...until I went there. Brand new--opened 12/06. First class
facility. Lights and sound to die for. Hammond and Leslie at my
fingertips...you read right, folks. I don't play guitar at church; I
wail on a Hammond with a Leslie that deliciously growls with every
swell. But the folks there are first class too, and they've
graciously agreed to let us invade for a weekend. The church is
located at 300 North Maple, Lebanon, TN 37087 for you Mapquesters.
The website is http://www.crossroadslebanon.com/

The tentative itinerary for this year's two day event will be:
Friday 10/19/07 8:00PM - Full concert with Salem Hill
Saturday 10/20 2:00PM - Full concert with Salem Hill
Saturday 10/20 7:00PM - Barbecue at Chez Groves

As it was last time, there is no admission or cost for the weekend's
events, other than what you'll spend for getting here, lodging and
food. Saturday night's barbecue is our treat. Plus, you'll get to see
the new England Recording Studios!

So we've given you almost 5 full months to make arrangements. As
such, we expect you to show! We may even throw in a mystery guest
appearance or two, who knows? If there are tunes you wanna hear,
now's the time to chime.

And, as always, we genuflect to you all!

What a deal! How can you pass up such an opportunity. I can't, so I'll be there. I hope you can make it too.

Dale,

I don't know if I did a thread before, but it's good you re-did this...I will be there with my friends here at Progday....it's going to be absolutely incredible!

Will be flying into Nashville on that Friday...let's keep each other updated!

And....they will be playing all of catatonia

Alright - Mr. & Mr. CPLJ1885 will be joining Sallie & I on Saturday. I know you'll be there R&R.

So calling all other southern proggers. Free Music. Free Barbecue. Come On!

It's right on I-40 just east of Nashville. Right in the heart of Lebanon. Easy Peasy.

Re: Salem Hill Weekend in Tennessee

Here's the latest from Carl Groves....

Just wanted to shoot all of you Peculiar People a note that if you're
not planning on attending the HW this year...*big* mistake. I've been
performing with my bandmates for well over two decades now (Mike since
the Jurassic age), and I have to say we've never sounded this good.
Maybe the old "finer with age" claim has some truth to it after all!

Gonna be a great show and I *highly* encourage any of you who can make
it to do so. I mean...sheesh...there's even free barbecue!

OHD and Rick - are you guys planning on a trip to this event? Will you be attending both concert days and the picknic?

I was thinking of going and maybe bringing the wife. She has never been to Nashville area of Tennessee.

Contact me at my email address and maybe we can plan something. I live near Spartanburg, SC off of I26 and I85.

Later.

Re: Salem Hill Weekend in Tennessee

I sent an email to Dale, Carl, and Scott (dangerboy). I cc'd some other friends. We'll coordinate that way. Dale, cool about the cp's coming...and I sent your hotel info in the email. I've yet to book, so we'll see where everyone else is too.

Schupdoggy....will you be there?

Carl, it would be great to see you both again. I had a fun time at Rosfest...

Re: Salem Hill Weekend in Tennessee

Here's Carl Groves' thank you on yahoo...

Greetings,

I've spent most of the past week capturing the film and backing up the
audio. The footage looks great and the band didn't do too shabby,
either. We're hoping to use some of the Weekend to springboard into
the "next project." As many of you may not know, Salem Hill is once
again completely indie. We'll be releasing all future endeavors through
our own company, The Lazarus Group (unless Atlantic decides to drop a
couple mil in our laps). Of course, I imagine it has many of you
scratching your head and whispering "don't they ever learn?"

I think we have this time...

We've got pretty cool plans for the next 18 months and much of those
plans are possible (and have been for the last decade or so) because
you folks support us.

So a big, heart-felt thanks from the Band to all of You who showed for
the Weekend and for those of you who consistently "show" for us
whenever we decide to inflict our silly art upon you.

Indeed, this past weekend was as special for the four of us as you've
stated it was for you. Loads of fun performing for our Peculiar
People,, and it was great to hang with many of you at the house after
the Saturday show. Sorry I ran out of beer! Won't happen again!

And, as always, we genuflect to you all!

Carl, Mike, Pat and Kev
