Bowie - Fripp
Am I the only person here who loves Fripp's guitar playing on David Bowie's Scary Monsters & Super Creeps?
And Bowie shouting "Shut up!!!" at Fripp's quirky riffs at the end of 'It's No Game No 1' is hilarious. There's some arty new wave stuff on this album that I think might fit the playlist here on Aural Moon.

Fripp
Now it's been a while since I pulled that one out, but are you sure that's Fripp on It's No Game #1? I was under the impression that it was someone else, and that Fripp only played on Teenage Wildlife on that one.
Could be wrong though. For sure he's on Heroes, perhaps Lodger.

Yes, he is credited as playing the guitar on 'Fashion', 'It's No Game', 'Scary Monsters', 'Kingdom Come' 'Up the Hill Backwards', 'Teenage Wildlife'. The riffs are very 'frippean', no doubt about that, especially on 'It's No Game' and the hit 'Fashion'.
Fripp said in an interview that perhaps King Crimson isn't the best showcase for him as a guitarist but rather his efforts on other peoples albums, and he mentioned his colloboration with Bowie as an example.

You made me do it....
Fripp guests on "Fade Away and Radiate" by Blondie. Very nice guitar runs behind a spacy (for Blondie) song...worth inclusion.
I love RF, but there are things he's done that I find unlistenable. If you really hate your audience, slide them a side of "Let the Power Fall." |

Scared straight
Scary Monsters is excellent, I'm surprised your polling area doesn't think so. Everyone I know digs it.
Second that Let The Power Fall statement. See other thread for my Blondie reply. |

Re: Scared straight
I seem to remember that RF went on tour with Bowie but wouldn't play on stage. He stood in the wings dressed in black and played.

maybe it makes up
for the embarrasing way Belew pranced around the stage when he played with Bowie. Sheesh!
