Multiple personalities
The thread about jazz and Bill Bruford got me thinking of how many different ways I've seen him live. I've seen Bruford with his Earthworks, Yes, with Upper Extremeties, with Pat Moraz, and with Crimson. That's five different ones. And if anyone saw him with Genesis, that's six!
So, who has anyone seen with the most different acts (at least three)? I'm not counting the same band with lineup changes. But, if you saw Rich Williams play with Glass Hammer at Nearfest, that counts. Here are some of mine - Percy Jones - Tunnels, Brand X, solo, Nuveau Musiche (sp) - 4 Adrian Belew - Bowie, solo, Bears, Crimson - 4 Steve Morse - Dregs, solo, Purple - 3 Steve Howe - Yes, solo, GTR, Asia - 4 Tony Levin - Gabriel, solo, Calif Guitar Trio, Crimson, w/Bruford - 5 Dio - solo, Sabbath, Rainbow I only counted two for Chris Slade (Firm and AC/DC), but there's always Manfred Mann - and who knows how many times I've seen the dumming Appice brothers! I'm sure I forgot a few - fire away!!! |

Not prog but I've seen Ozzy with Iommi, Randy Rhoads, Jake E. Lee and Zakk Wylde. And I'm sure he had a different drummer and bass player each time. The Prince of Darkness may not be able to walk, but he can still rock.

technically
only 2 - his band and Sabbath.
If you were there at his "rendition" of Take Me Out To The Ballgame, that would be three! Think he's bad, try counting the Tull band members! |

gotta think about this one - I've got lots of 2's, can't even think of a three at this time - but there's gotta be some...

I can think of some twos and threes
I can think of some twos and threes and fours and a five, but their all indie rock club type shows where the line-ups just revolve, and I doubt you've heard of any of them...
Ransom Tree? Soul Remains? Groove? Questions in Dialect? Radio Driver? Bellador? Yeah, didn't think so...

yeah
It was a joke for a one-show cover band! four guys from different bands got together, rehearsed some covers, and played at a little club one time under that name. It was a fun show.
