Upcoming Events: Premiere Of Wobbler, Fluttr+Marillion In Studio, Klaus Schulze
Some great things happening in the next few weeks you
won't want to miss: http://gagliarchives.com ---Norwegan band Wobbler makes their radio world premiere of their forthcoming, soon to be blockbuster album, Hinterland. Wobbler will be featured this Saturday in our radio documentary The Laser's Edge: Part II - The Golden Years 1995-2005, with our guest record label president Ken Golden. Wobbler is strongly influenced by the best Italian symphonic progressive bands, classical music, and folk, with twists and tinges of Änglagård and Anekdoten. Ken also joins us to talk about the last decade on artists such as White Willow, A Triggering Myth, Spektakel, Knight Area, Riverside, Anti Depressive Delivery and many others. Tune in Saturday! ---On June 4th, German Electronic music pioneer Klaus Shulze joins us for an exclusive interview. Klaus Schulze remains a cult figure in the United States, where the bulk of his prolific output has until now been available only through the import bins. He is widely considered an avant-garde mainstay as well as a founding father of both the new-age space music and electronica genres. Klaus will discuss the new and forthcoming reissues of his back catalog, his illustrious solo career, and his captivating performances. ---Philadelphia artist and ongoing project Alon plays in our studios on June 11th. Alon In the 1980's, Alon performed with Bag, a zany, Zappaesque, eight piece theatrical rock group featuring costumes, extravagant set designs and surreal banter between the vampish Mrs. Bag and her insignificant other Mr. Bag (aka Alon). In 1990 they released Happy Family on Great Egg Records. Later in the mid 1990's he formed a studio/internet project entitled no1uno. Persian Butterfly, Alon's first CD from 2002, serves as instrumental interludes between the lyrically powerful songs in his live performances. It is an ornately textured production of six and twelve string acoustic guitar compositions immersed in swirling and starkly inventive effects. Alon will join us to talk about the forthcoming album The Artist Manifesto. It's also a literary doctrine, a proclamation challenging the sacred, romantic ideal of the struggling artist. http://www.alon.tv ---Los Trios Marillios joins us in our studios on June 18th in the midst of their acoustic tour, and their day off, to give a special performance before they head to Chicago, IL. Steve Hogarth, Pete Trawavas, and Steve Rothery join us to discuss the new powerful release Marbles which finished in the #4 spot in our top 100. http://www.gagliarchives.com/04top100.html They will return to Philadelphia to Tower Records in Philadelphia, PA, for a In-Store Acoustic/Signing Session, at 1:00 pm on June 21st. Marillion's tour will be followed by several European festivals. Check out http://marillion.com for more info. ---Also than night...Boston band Fluttr Effect visit us in our studios for a live performance on June 18th, 2005. Fluttr Effect, a female dominated five piece ensemble that features singer Kara Trott, Vessela Stoyanova on midi-controlled marimba, electric cellist Valerie Thompson. On guitar is Troy Kidwell and drums Jason Marchionna. These students of Berklee are amazing live and will appeal to fans of King Crimson and fans of the Dresden Dolls. Nice range, huh? Join us for this hypnotizing performance of one of today's premiere bands. ---On July 10th, the Gagliarchives will broadcast live from the Comfort Suites Bar at 10pm in Bethlehem, PA for NEARFEST 2005! We'll be featuring live interviews throughout the night, and spotlight all the bands performing that weekend. Come join us on Saturday night!
