Show 18 - Return of the Tweeners

I've got some seriously proggy shows lined up, but in the meantime I thought it would be a good idea to visit out good friend, the "Tweener". Too good for regular radio, not quite prog enough for the Moon...or are they? Hmmmmm...... open for interpertation.

A giant assist from Steady Stan...who either supplied or suggested a good portion of the show.

The offending parties:

1) Tears For Fears - Woman In Chains

Great tune...never heard it on the radio. Let's do it! "It's a world gone crazy keeps a woman in chains"

2) Phil Manzanera - Law and Order

No, not one of the dozens of TV Law and Order shows This one's a great cut from "Listen Now". Love the guitar work.

3) UFO - Love to Love

From one of the great rock records of all time, "Lights Out". Thanks to Stan for reminding me how good it is.

4) Styx - This Old Man

A progressive gem hidden on "Crystal Ball". The voices soar in the final chorus.

5) Styx - One With Everything

Saw them with Kansas about three years back maybe, and they were promoting a new record. This is off of it, courtesy of SS. Very nice tune.

6) Dire Straits - Ride Across The River

Could have put on a lot from them...but wanted to cool down a bit here.

7) Bruce Hornsby - The Road Not Taken

Some scintillating piano work, cooling down even more..

8) Billy Joel - Scenes From An Italian Restaurant

Your first and last Billy Joel song on this show, and probably on Aural Moon. Flame away......but for eight minutes you'll get over it!

9) Schon/Hammer - Untild Passion

A SS entry, this one's a keeper!

10) Whitewitch - Sleepwalk

Thanks SS, an oldie but a goodie.

11) City Boy - Dear Jean (I'm Nervous)

More Stan stuff. A bit on the pop side but some amazing bridge sections, and a lot of fun.

12) City Boy - Cigarettes

Smokin!

13) Depeche Mode - The World in My Eyes

Why not?

14) Gary Numan - Warriors

Dick Morrisey on the late-night sax.

15) Sweet - Action

Close you eyes....and you'd swear it was Queen.

16) Sweet - Love Is Like Oxygen

A live version. No one I know has the long version. The heck with the chopped one.....there's a major prog surprise in the middle of this tune!

17 - whenever

The Who - Quadrophenia

There's been a serious clamor for this CD...in fact, Stan and Term asked about this the same day, and both said independently "if you can't play the whole thing play at least the instrumentals". That's a sign from the gods if I ever heard one....

I Am the Sea
The Real Me
Quadrophenia
Cut My Hair
The Punk Meets The Godfather
I'm One
The Dirty Jobs
Helpless Dancer
Is It In My Head
I've Had Enough
5:15
Sea And Sand
Drowned
Bell Boy
Dr. Jimmy
the Rock
Love, Reign O'er Me

See you there!
