The first three paragraphs should have been excised. Every time I read one of these, it starts off with negativism chanting the same old same old that prog rock failed because of self-indulgence.

I'd rewrite the article from the 4th paragraph:

The progressive rock genre, once the stalwart of 70' radio airplay, has been experiencing a comeback. With new acclaimed albums by such bands as the Mars Volta, scheduled to play Worcester's Palladium tomorrow and Avalon on Tuesday, Queens of the Stone Age, . . . And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, and Porcupine Tree, prog rock is again being hailed for restoring art to modern rock, allowing innovative musicianship to be revered instead of reviled.

Be positive and give the reader some incentive to check it out for him/herself. The closing comment "revered instead of reviled" could be replaced with "to be heard or experienced again". A much more positive invitation than the way the article opened.

I'm not so sure I'd keep the list of the bands that this paragraph mentions, especially QotSA... they've never struck me as having elements of PR... unless PR means public relations... hype is still making and or breaking access to musical mainstream.
