Rickter Scale - Show 121 - "Cryptic Ghost Spirals"
From 8-11 PM EST Sunday March 11 and 1-4 PM EST Monday March 12.
You'll miss an hour of the show if you forget that in our continuing effort to fuck up time, the powers that be decided we needed daylight savings time even earlier! Let's make this one semi-quick, I'm completely whacked...... In the next month I'm going to play a couple of Porcupine Tree shows, two XTC shows, and some other fun music. Rosfest is coming up soon, and I'm getting a copy of the Tempustry CD to play for the show, can't wait ![]() So this show I'm clearing out a few things I've been wanting to track for awhile. Ozric Tentacles - "Spirals In Hyperspace" (2004) 69:39 Too tired to put the track listing up, maybe later in the week. I've been hitting the Ozrics hard this past year, but for 2007 they'll be scarce, maybe a song here or there. When I did the Ozric two-show set, I didn't have this CD, but have since gotten a copy. "Spirals" marks a transition from the propulsive jam to a more groove-oriented mood, almost jazzy. Seventy mintues of excellent stuff. Ghost Circus - cuts from "Cycles" (2006) total 31:21 Chris Brown from TN (US) and Ronald Wahle (Holland) team up for a nice record. I'm not enamored of the vocals, but it's fairly crunchy music. They play pretty much everything on the record. We'll hear "Trick of the Light", "Accelerate", Send/Deturn", and "Mass Suggestion part one". The last of the Rogor Mortis titles that were burned for me last year.....just in time to see him again at Rosfest! Cryptic Vision - In A World (2006) 72:59 The much-anticipated follow-up to "Moments of Clarity" is an excellent CD, that leads off with the 18-minure title cut. The debut was excellent, in the Kansas vein, but here there's more branching out musically. "Common Ground" is a wonderful song both musically and lyrically. A must-get, along with the live CD from Rosfest. Have fun this week, and be on the lookout each week for the show! |
