Interzone - March 15, 2005: Jazz-Rock I

Hey guys,

I don't know if the promo has been permeating the airwaves yet, but tonight is the Interzone premiere.

This week's theme to explore is the world of jazz-rock, also known as jazz-fusion, jazz-rock fusion, fusion, jazz-funk, and that music with the 64th notes.

"Is it jazz? Is it rock? Who knows? Who cares?"

That said, I find "jazz-rock" works as a necessary description as the music incorporates the traditions of both jazz and rock, and all the music played fits somewhere along that continuum (the gray space).

My apologies if I sound a bit pretentious or too serious. My intentions with Interzone first and foremost is to have fun. There is a general central theme to the show, and it will take a few weeks to describe it until everyone knows what to expect.

This will be the first of many jazz-rock themed programs. I hope you enjoy.

- Cozy

PS - playlist to come

I'm going to try and make a habit of catching your replays, since they coincide with work. Good luck with the show.

Gong!

I found that PM Gong on Emusic.com, of all places.

Worth the "free trial" at the very least!
