I wonder if anybody (maybe Steve Wilson) tells Opeth's singer to cut down on the growling...maybe they'd sell a few more records....unless their fans like the growling.

I don't know. I haven't listened to them, apart from what i heard on Wojteck's show yesterday. But I did see a lot of Opeth shirts at the PTree show in Toronto last fall. So, I guess they must have their following.

Myself, I don't know. Find it hard to move from Jon Anderson's vocals to this...

They sell out everywhere. The kids like the growling. My wife has a nephew in a growler band.

As for Steven wilson...well I think he encourages it. A friend told me that Mikael Akerfelt (the guilty party) guests on the Ayreon record (with the days" concept). He wanted to sing regular, but Ayreon insisted he growl. They wanted that effect.

Oh well....

Here's an idea, growl to "Holy Lamb"....

Holy Lambbbbbbbbbbbbbbbrrrrrrraaaahhhhhhhhhh
