Re: Day of Silence?

Keep in mind Aural Moon just protested in their own way over the weekend with the Gagliarchives broadcast. One of the core themes brought up repeatedly over the program was the 'save net radio' theme.

It's not exactly like we aren't doing anything here, but this is the first time I personally had heard of the 'day of silence'.

I myself have written to my representatives and I've received correspondence from 2 of 3. I believe it did about as much good as pissing into a strong gale-force wind but I did write them.

My time and resources are limited. However, if the outcome of this turns out NOT to favor us, I will tap my personal limited resources to mount whatever resistance I can to turn the tide. The "No CRAP -- Corporate and RIAA Approved Programming" initiative will be born.

Re: Day of Silence?

Elliott, there is no need to "shut up". You have an opinion and it is well thought out.

There are a lot more stations out there much smaller than us. For an independent station, we have a lot of ears.

My opinion is that there are more effective ways to make our voices heard. I think the silence is counterproductive.

Right! To the contrary, we all need to speak up, not shut up. I am amazed, even amongst internet radio listeners, that there are so many that do not know of the impending death toll for internet radio.

I've urged people to visit SaveNetRadio.org and print out the information there, make copies and circulate it at places where people who listen to music (record stores, concerts, etc.) could learn about the actions of the RIAA and LoC CRB and take come action.

One voice can be loud but a whole lot of voices is louder!
