Re: Journey to Rosfest and NearFest in 08

My wife and I will be arriving in Philly on April 30th. We will be staying until May 6th. So, what else can we do in the area while we are there? We will have a car. Suggestions.

You could take VAX's scenic tours of Philly and NYC watering holes!

You could do it in the car, but I would get a room for at least a few days.....

ok, sorry...Baseball games, other concerts, you could hit Atlantic City if you gamble. unfortunately the East coast lacks the physical scenic attractions.

Bugger that.

I can take you to some very scenic parts. Pennsylvania mountains were I was born and raised. The proNJ Pine Barrens or some of the shore areas.

If you want to gamble in AC, you're on your own. I will only go to AC for a show. If you want to toss your money away, toss it my way.

Depending upon when you are here, Teermin8r likes to go to a Phillies game at their park. It's a new and beautiful ball park. Good food, beer and fun. I could take you to the historical sites of Philly (independence Mall, Liberty Bell, etc.) or over to the Parkway (all the museums: PMA famous for the Rocky run, Franklin Institute, MNH, Rodan, etc.). Historic South Street and Penn's Landing and even to the oldest operating restaurant in the country, Bookbinders.

NYC isn't very picturesque... it's a glass and steel dirty hole but if there are places you'd like to see (save for ground zero), I can show you there too.

Of course, I know watering holes everywhere so you won't get parched on the tour.
