Re: Progday

Excellent, both really great bands. I was going anyway, but the pot sure got sweeter. I've only seen DFA, at NF, and heard about Mirthrandir show from J. Robinson.

Re: Progday

Scott,

Looking forward to it...and DFA will be great in a smaller setting. At Orion it was magic. Hop over to the Progressive Ears pic and tell me who the famous guitarist is in the middle (no answering by those who were at Nearfest )

He's someone that frequents Progday.

Re: Progday

OK. I didn't mean to sound overly cautious here but it's hard to know how under the hat things need to be. Nobody tells me that stuff. In fact I even have people who do I what I do telling me they can't tell me about what band(s)are playing because it's not official yet. So I get a lot of mixed signals. I didn't know Steve was already making that announcement. Here I thought I was special. Lol.

I only posted it because it's on their myspace. If it falls through it's not my fault

By the way, I didn't mean to include Steve in the DFA...Mike only.

You have your own special way

Nonetheless it's not official. In fact both aren't. The announcements can't go up on the website until the contracts are finalized. I'm not angry or anything. It's way beyond me. I'm just a messenger. But the thing is if people make plans to go based on just the announcement of those two bands(especially DFA) and for some reason the contracts don't go through then PD gets blamed for it. There are implications. It is highly unlikely but still possible. I think the PD team was just anxious to get the word out and saw NF as a prime opportunity to get more people interested even if it was a tad premature. That said I totally understand the risk involved.

Rick, I'm not blaming you or anyone else. It's not really anyone's fault. As far as I'm concerned it's all just a technicality anyway. Being that DFA has it up on their myspace page I guess that means they really want to play. I'm sure everything will turn out just fine. At least I'm hoping. Bands have cancelled at the last minute in the past but that can and has happened after band's have been officially announced and not just PD either(FK at RF comes to mind).

Re: Progday

ok:

To anyone - You will not need to make any plans for Progday anytime soon. You can wait until August like I did last year.

Mirthandir was announced by them, just like NF always announces a band a year in advance, and like Rosfest does. Bands cancel all the time (like Yes did this year).

No one's getting their hopes up, Mike, and frankly, I don't think anyone really cares, and no one is going to blame Progday. Or no one in their right mind.

Finally got the chance to take a look. It appears to be GG's Gary Greene. Do I get a prize? How about a Carolina brew at the show, that'll do.

Re: Progday

Should be safe Danger. Plenty of time for that problem of Rick's to clear up.

If Danger didn't get anything when we were in the same place at Progday, he never will!

Have a good pic of you and the Fish that I need to upload...
