The Internet Archive, via its Wayback Machine, provides an interesting opportunity to look at the past of the Moon (and many other places on the web, of course). Check out some of the snapshots of this website:

Look at the entries from 2001 for example: The site looks quite different from what it is today. Also, if you check some of the more recent entries, you can see some old shoutbox messages, among others.

(Some patience is needed with that service: It seems to be rather slow these days, at least for me.)
