IQ EVENT ended


a beautiful formula to live with preshow and chat rooms
with IQ unreleased concert of Subterranea Live 2011 version
higher than the previous ones released on 1997 and 2000 albums
with a Neil Durant who has just joined the group and who
immediately proves that he will be of great help to Holmes
for the following years ... 2 hours and 10 minutes of concert
with 3 encores and then ... "See you in the bar!" another
30 minutes of chat room with IQ ... with a loud request to
release the concert on Bluray or DVD. however to my surprise
this morning I reconnected with the link and found the over
3 hours of the video of the event still viewable and from
the IQ website I read that it will be left visible for a limited time
... so I invite those who do not have it seen live taking
advantage of this Christmas gift from IQ

IQ New Album DOMINION

on February 17, 2024 at a concert in Colos-Saal.Germany
Peter Nicholls announced the surprise performance of a new
track "Last Remains" that would be part of the new
album "MALAGONIA" that was intended to be released in
autumn 2024 ....but after that performance no other news was
proposed and autumn passed without "MALAGONIA" being
released

in my final comment on the previous album "RESISTANCE"
I pointed out the sequence of years in which IQ had
released their studio albums and said:
"IQ ... 1993 ... 1997 ... 2000 ... 2004 ... 2009 ... 2014 ... 2019.

It may take another 4 or 5 years before the next album is released and the album title could also be interpreted as an invitation to the Resistance for their fans"

5 years were not enough ... it took 6 and they were not even
enough to publish the entire material produced..

in the meantime the first twist the album is no longer called
MALAGONIA but DOMINION
it is not a double but a single with 5 tracks inside
it will be released on March 28 but you can pre-order from Monday February 17

the reason for this change is always the same
ready to bet any amount:
the hyperbolic perfectionism of Michael Holmes
they have a lot of material ready but according to Holmes it would have taken more time to be able to release the entire double album and since 6 years have already passed it was decided to release a part of it in "DOMINION"
and hopefully release the second part without waiting years






















in the meantime we enjoy one of the tracks of DOMINION

Seven more days and the new IQ album will be released,
insiders who have listened to it describe it very positively with long tracks, one of which is 22 minutes long, but I have not been able to find the details of the other 3 apart from No Dominion which they released as a promo for the album ... some describe it further from Genesis and closer to the Yes genre but these are simplifications just to get an idea .... in evidence in addition to the usual Mike Holmes also Neil Durant with church organ pieces in Awaken style but in any case just wait a few days and we will also be able to have our opinion .... in the meantime, while we wait, a long recent interview by Peter Nicholls and Mike Holmes

IQ DOMINION album has been released





there are only 5 tracks even if IQ have a lot of other music ready but always for the "disease of extreme perfectionism" that Michael Holmes has been fighting for many years, Holmes has decided that the remaining material needs corrections and a better mix .... but for the very high quality product that he gives us we forgive him and if what is missing is of the same quality as DOMINION then go ahead and take it easy.
as for the previews of the album that spoke of abandoning a similar Genesis to move on to a similar Yes none of this is pure Original Music IQ .... even the references to the use of the church organ to compare it to AWAKEN have nothing to do with it, just a few passages ... Awaken is something else
Dominion is a great album where 3 tracks stand out

Far From Here
the other two are very predictable quiet tracks
my advice is to listen to it several times before judging it and listen to it with headphones so as not to miss anything of the construction of the track .... my favorite track is Far From Here beautiful with great work by Peter Nicholls and Neil Durant and compliments to
Paul Cook for the great performance to chase the very high rhythm of the track perhaps one of the highest in the IQ compositions
in short an extremely positive judgment for DOMINION
